愛犬の存在は、家族そのもの。 一昨年、17年暮らした2匹を続けて見送った。 私の胸の中で、消えそうに震える小さな命の灯。 最後に私の目を見つめて「ありがと。」と言ってくれた気がした。 ギュッと強く抱きしめているうちに、身体が冷たく硬くなっていく。 思い出が頭の中をよぎる。「本当にありがとう。」 父を見送った時泣けなかったのに、号泣してしまった。 もう二度と見送るのは嫌やだ。と心に決めた。 それから１年、どんな方法でも、彼らの欠けた心の隙間は、埋まらなかった。 今、家のドアを開けると、新しい2匹のチワワが「お帰り。」と駆け寄って出迎えてくれる。 人が忘れた、純粋無垢な愛情の深さに戸惑う。 みんな同じ愛犬、でもそれぞれが光を放つ全く違う尊い命。

東京藝術⼤学⼤学院修⼠修了/多摩美術⼤学卒業新たな価値を創造し、形にする。0から1へ、そして1から100へ。「まだ存在しない価値を創造し、未来の可能性をカタチにする」という理念のもと、企業や⾏政、地域おこしなど500を超えるプロジェクトに携わる。北川村「マルモッタン」モネの庭、広重美術館、⼩杉放菴記念⽇光美術館、⼤⾕⽯砕⽯場跡、⼭海塾グラフィック、浅草商店街/浅草ROX、セゾン美術館グラフィック、ウゴウゴルーガ、無印良品、Loft、LIBRO、六本⽊WAVE、もてぎ道の駅、瀬⼾⼤橋博覧会、LINEスタンプ、陸前⾼⽥復興などの事業開発、ブランディング、空間デザイン、商品開発、システム開発、アートディレクションまでの領域を横断し、企業のトップとともに新たな価値を創造してきた。常に⼈の⼼を動かすアートの⼒と創造⼒の本質を⾒つめ、未来を構想し、⼈・企業・社会をつなぐ「コンセプト」を設計し、実現すること。それが尾坂昇治の創作の原点である。企業やブランドの世界観を数多く⽣み出してきた経験と並⾏して、彫刻家流政之⽒に師事し、これまで、現代美術、ビジュアルアート、ランドスケープアート、モニュメント製作を全国で⾏う。本展では、⼈間の存在、時間、光、美、宇宙、そして⽇本の精神⽂化へと視点を広げる。茶道、禅寺、枯⼭⽔、侘び寂び、⼀期⼀会、⺠家、伝統⼯芸、祝祭、盆栽、陰翳礼讃といった⽇本古来の美意識と、現代アート、空間、⽣命の息吹、テクノロジーを融合し、「過去と未来の光が交わる今」という思想をBIOPHILIC ARTとして表現する。この空間が、⼀⼈ひとりの⼼の中にある「今」と出会い、未来へと続く光を感じる場所となれば幸いである。

Artist’s Comment
The presence of my dogs is, to me, the very essence of family. The year before last, I had to say goodbye to two dogs who had shared my life for 17 years, one after the other. In my heart, I could feel the tiny flame of life trembling, as if it were about to fade away. As my dog looked into my eyes for the last time, I felt as though they were saying, ‘Thank you.’ As I held them tightly in my arms, their body gradually became cold and still. Memories of our time together flashed through my mind. ‘Thank you. Truly, thank you.’ When I said goodbye to my father, I couldn’t cry. But this time, I found myself in tears, sobbing uncontrollably. I told myself that I never wanted to experience the pain of saying goodbye again. Yet, for an entire year afterward, nothing I did could fill the emptiness in my heart left by them. Now, when I open the door to my home, two new Chihuahuas come running to greet me, as if saying, ‘Welcome home.’ I find myself overwhelmed by the depth of a pure and innocent love that humans seem to have forgotten. They are all beloved dogs, yet each one is a precious and completely unique life, shining with its own light.

Shoji Osaka (Japan)
Shoji Osaka is an artist, creative director, and concept designer dedicated to creating new value and transforming ideas into reality. Guided by the philosophy of creating value that does not yet exist and giving shape to the possibilities of the future, he has led more than 500 projects across business, government, culture, and regional revitalisation. His work spans branding, business development, spatial design, product development, system design, and art direction. Working alongside business leaders, he has created new concepts and experiences for museums, cultural institutions, public spaces, corporations, and local communities throughout Japan. His diverse portfolio includes the Monet Garden Marmottan in Kitagawa Village, the Hiroshige Museum of Art, the Kosugi Hoan Memorial Museum of Art Nikko, the Oya Stone Quarry Ruins, Sankai Juku, Asakusa Shopping Street and Asakusa ROX, Sezon Museum graphics, Ugo Ugo Ruga, MUJI, Loft, LIBRO, Roppongi WAVE, Michinoeki Motegi, the Seto Ohashi Expo, LINE Stickers, and the reconstruction of Rikuzentakata following the Great East Japan Earthquake. Throughout his career, Shoji Osaka has continually explored the power of art to move people. His practice centres on imagining the future, designing concepts that connect people, organisations, and society, and transforming those ideas into meaningful experiences. This philosophy forms the foundation of his creative work. Alongside his extensive work in branding and concept creation, he studied under the renowned sculptor Masayuki Nagare. Since then, he has created contemporary art, visual art, landscape art, and public monuments throughout Japan.
