THE CHARITYについて

THE CHARITYは、株式会社ペトログが主催する、どうぶつ福祉のチャリティーイベントです。第1回となる「#01 -アートで動物を救う-」では、国内外33名のアーティストによる70点を超えるアート作品の展示・販売をはじめ、保護犬・保護猫の譲渡会、チャリティーグッズやペット用品の販売、ワークショップを開催します。

アート作品のご購入は、そのまま動物たちへの支援につながります。イベントで生じた利益は全額、動物保護団体・個人活動家への必要な物資の支援に活用されます。

会期：2026年8月29日（土）〜 9月6日（日）11:00〜18:00 ※8月31日（月）は休廊
会場：JPS GALLERY Tokyo（東京都渋谷区神宮前6-27-4）｜入場無料・ペット同伴可

THE CHARITY is an animal-welfare charity event organised by Petlog Inc. Its first edition, "#01 – Saving Animals Through Art –", features an exhibition and sale of over 70 artworks by 33 artists from Japan and overseas, along with adoption events for rescued dogs and cats, sales of charity goods and pet products, and workshops.

Every purchase of an artwork directly supports animals in need: all profits from the event go towards essential supplies for animal-welfare organisations and independent rescuers.

JPS Galleryについて

2014年に香港で誕生した現代アートギャラリー。現在は東京にも拠点を構え、世界各地のアーティストの作品を展覧会や国際的なアートフェアを通じて紹介しています。次世代を担う若手アーティストのキャリア形成を継続的にサポートするほか、チャリティーイベントやオークションへの協賛を通じて、社会とアートシーンへの貢献にも力を注いでいます。

「THE CHARITY #01」は、本イベントの趣旨にご賛同いただいたJPS Galleryの多大なご協力により実現しました。協賛として会場をご提供いただくとともに、国内外33名の参加アーティストの招集にもお力添えいただいています。

Established in Hong Kong in 2014, JPS Gallery is a contemporary art gallery with a second home in Tokyo. Through its exhibitions and participation in international art fairs, the gallery introduces works by artists from around the world, while offering ongoing support to emerging artists as they build their careers. JPS Gallery is also committed to giving back — to both society and the local art community — through its sponsorship of charity events and auctions.

THE CHARITY #01 has been made possible through the generous support of JPS Gallery, which shares the vision of this event. As a sponsor, the gallery has provided its exhibition space and helped bring together the 33 participating artists from Japan and overseas.

自然は、常に私のアートの世界の中心にあります。森や動物、そしてすべての生きものの間に存在する目には見えないつながりは、私の作品における絶え間ないインスピレーションの源です。 動物たちは、無垢さや直感、そして自然と調和して生きることの大切さを私たちに思い出させてくれます。私は絵を通して、生命に対する敬意と、その尊さに触れたときの感動を共有したいと考えています。 JPS Galleryで開催される「THE CHARITY - #01 アートで動物を救う」に参加できることを光栄に思います。私の作品が、動物たちを守り、大切にケアする人々への支援につながり、動物たちの幸せのために、より多くの思いやりと行動が広がるきっかけとなれば幸いです。

アーティストについて

August Vilella（スペイン）

August Vilellaは、独学で絵を学んだ画家であり、古典芸術と現代芸術の対話を生み出すような油彩画を制作しています。彼はシュルレアリスムの「自動記述(オートマティスム)」という手法を用い、事前のスケッチや構想を一切持たずに絵を描き始めます。そのため、彼の作品は一つひとつが独自の心理的な開放と意味を持ち、無意識の世界を映し出しています。伝統的な油絵技法を駆使しながら、夢のような雰囲気を湛えた彼の作品は、魔法的で隠喩的、かつ哲学的な視覚言語で観る者に語りかけます。光と影の巧みな使い方や繊細な筆遣いは、古典の巨匠たちを彷彿とさせつつ、夢幻的なキャラクターたちと対比を成し、独自の世界を築いています。彼のキャラクターたちは、大きくデフォルメされた目が特徴的で、その眼差しは、観る者の感情に深く訴えかけ、静かな内省へと誘います。1986年、スペインのバルセロナに生まれた彼は、これまでに数々の芸術賞を受賞しています。2016年には東京国際アートフェアにて最優秀アーティスト賞、2017年にはドバイの「グローバル・アート・アワード」にて最優秀イノベーティブ・アート賞、2018年には「アート・レボリューション・台北」にてインターナショナル・アーティスト大賞および、会長賞を受賞しました。2022年にはキャリアの大きな節目を迎え、マイアミと香港のArt Basel、ニューヨークのTEFAFなど、世界的なアートフェアで作品が展示され成功を収めました。また、東京・千代田区にある歴史的建築「九段ハウス」で個展《Memories》を開催し、好評を博しました。2023年には、サルバドール・ダリと共に、アントニ・ガウディが設計した世界遺産「ラ・ ペドレラ(カサ・ミラ)」にて個展を開催。独自の視点によるソロショーとして注目を集めました。彼の作品は、Vice、Hypebeast、美術手帖、Hulu TVなど多数のメディアにも取り上げられ、現代美術界における重要なアーティストとしての地位を確立しています。

Artist’s Comment

Nature has always been at the heart of my artistic world. Forests, animals, and the invisible connections between all living beings are a constant source of inspiration in my work. Animals remind us of innocence, intuition, and the importance of living in harmony with nature. Through my paintings, I hope to share this sense of respect and wonder for life. It is an honor to contribute to The Charity “Saving animals through art” event at JPS gallery. I hope my artwork can help support those who protect and care for animals, and encourage greater compassion and action for their well-being.

About the Artist

August Vilella (Spain)

August Vilella is a self-taught painter who creates oil paintings that open dialogue with contemporary and classical art. Working in the Surrealist automatism method, he creates without any previous sketches or ideas. Each painting has a unique psychical opening and meaning that reflect the subconscious mind. Using classical oil techniques, his works evoke a dream-like aura in a magical, metaphorical and philosophical language. The use of light and shadows and refined brushstrokes in his works recall works of the old masters, presenting an interesting juxtaposition with his dreamlike characters. August’s characters often feature big stylised eyes, and through their insightful gaze, the audience is invited to engage with their deep emotions and explore them with quiet introspections. Born in Barcelona in 1986, August has won numerous artist prizes including Best Artist at the Tokyo International Art Fair in 2016, Best Innovative Art at The Global Art Awards of Dubai (UAE) in 2017, and the International Artist Grand Prize and Chairman’s Award in the Art Revolution ́ Taipei in 2018. In 2022, August reached an important milestone in his artistic career, with his paintings successfully exhibited at prestigious events such as Art Basel in Miami, Art Basel in Hong Kong, and TEFAF in New York. Additionally, he held a successful solo exhibition titled Memories at the historic Kudan House in Chiyoda City of Tokyo. And in 2023 had an exclusive solo show with Salvador Dalí in “La Pedrera - Casa Milà”: An architectural masterpiece by Antoni Gaudí in Barcelona and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. August’s works have been featured in various prominent media outlets, including Vice, Hypebeast, Bijutsu Techo, Hulu TV, further solidifying his status as a highly regarded contemporary artist.
