今回の『THE CHARITY #1 アートで動物を救う』に参加することができ、とても光栄に思っています。 私にとって動物福祉への理解は、これまで主に、そのような活動を発信されている方々の動画などを通して学ぶことが中心でした。そのため、このイベントを通してチャリティ活動に参加できたことは、私にとって大切な第一歩となりました。 私はアート作家として活動を始めて以来、一貫して「ハムスター」をメインキャラクターとして描き続けています。その理由の一つには、作品を通して少しでも動物虐待の抑止につながればという願いがあります。 現実には、暴力の問題は、日々の愛情と同じように、言葉だけで止めることが難しいものだと感じています。それでも、作品を通して誰かの心に小さな変化や優しさが生まれることを信じて、制作を続けています。 今回の作品『CALM』では、ハムスターと猫が穏やかな時間をともに過ごすひとときを描きました。この穏やかな景色が、いつまでも続いてほしいという願いを込めています。 このチャリティイベントを通して、少しでも動物たちや活動に携わる皆さまのお役に立てることができれば、本望です。
アーティストについて
Burumori（日本）
2013年よりDTPデザインを学び、DTPデザイナーとして印刷業に携わる。2022年より『弱さを肯定する』と『嗜虐心』をテーマに、独学でアート制作を開始。圧倒的に弱い存在であるハムスターをメインキャラクターとし、「弱者」が「強者」に対し持つ恨みや妬みといったネガティブな感情は、人間が持つ純粋な一つの心情だと捉えている。彼女の作品には「虐げられた後・これから起こる暴力の予知」、そして困難でも立ち向かう「懸命に生きる姿」などが描かれている。

Artist’s Comment
I am truly honored to be able to participate in “THE CHARITY #1 – Saving Animals Through Art.” Until now, my understanding of animal welfare has largely come from watching videos and other content shared by people who are actively involved in these causes. For this reason, being able to take part in a charity initiative through this event has been an important first step for me. Since I began working as an artist, I have consistently featured a “hamster” as the main character in my work. One of the reasons for this is my hope that, through my art, I can contribute, even in a small way, to preventing animal cruelty. In reality, I feel that the problem of violence is difficult to stop through words alone, just as love and kindness are expressed through our everyday actions. Even so, I continue to create because I believe that art can inspire small changes and moments of kindness in someone’s heart. In my work CALM, I have depicted a hamster and a cat sharing a peaceful moment together. I created this work with the hope that this gentle scene will continue forever. It would mean a great deal to me if, through this charity event, I could contribute even in a small way to helping animals and supporting everyone who is involved in their welfare.
About the Artist
Burumori (Japan)
Since 2013, she has studied DTP design and worked in the printing industry as a DTP designer. In 2022, she began her artistic practice as a self-taught artist, exploring themes of vulnerability and sadistic desire. Using the hamster — an overwhelmingly weak and fragile creature — as her central motif, she regards the negative emotions that the weak harbor toward the strong, such as resentment and envy, as among the purest and most genuine emotions inherent in human nature. Her artworks depict the aftermath of oppression, the anticipation of violence yet to come, and the resilient figures of those who continue to confront adversity and struggle to survive.
